What the Hay?

I know the title is a bit silly....but I couldn't resist. Jeff has been trying to recover our back yard after this crazy drought. He has been covered in hay the last couple of days.

Can you see the new growth sprouting through from the grass seed he laid down last weekend?
YEA....green again!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted pics of the boys.
As you know.....I had my retreat last weekend and then I had my Church History Midterm on Tuesday and I have spent the rest of the week preparing my lesson for Sunday and writing the material that I will be speaking on at our upcoming Ladies Conference. I have BEEN SO busy.
I did grab a couple of shots of the boys today.

Can we say Trouble?....(capitol T)

Jadon has been wanting to the get the black spiderman suit for our fall carnival coming up next month. He has been REALLY begging me for it....and when we walked into walmart yesterday, guess what he spotted in his size? There was no leaving the store with out this suit. SO CUTE!
Ok, well all I have to say about this last pic is this....."that is some serious pinchin material right there!" WOOOWEEE!!
Love to all!

Family pic

Some of you have asked to see pics of Jeff and I on the blog site too.

This is a picture that was taken at the church this summer. We finally got a hold of it. So, here it is. If you click on the photo it will enlarge for you.

Scripture Memory

Jeff is working with the boys each night to have them commit scripture to memory. We are using John Piper's resources for teaching children scripture. http://www.childrendesiringgod.org/product.php?id=2

The boys have cards that they memorize each night. They are having so much fun learning them, but most importantly we want so much to have them hide the word of God in their hearts so that they will be able to love the LORD through His word, to be ready to give an account when others ask as well as to be prepared to fight their enemy when he attacks!

The boys wanted me to show everyone some of their progress in this pursuit of memorization.

Jonah verses in the video-
Deuteronomy 10:12-13"And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD, which I am commanding you today for your good?

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God,the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.

Jadon's verses in the video-

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Spend the Night

Jonah is off to spend the night with his friend Andrew.
They look so much alike with that blond hair!

Back Yard Ramp

Game 2

It is absolutely beautiful here today!
We finally got a shift in the weather and it was in the low 70's this morning at the game as opposed to last Saturday which was nearly 100. We have gotten a little bit of rain Thurs and Friday. We could use ALOT more but the cooler weather has gotten us all excited. Jeff headed off today with some good friends of ours and is dove hunting. So you KNOW he is enjoying the day! Here are a couple of pics from this morning at the game.

Sleep Over

Tonight Jonah has his best friend, Dallas over to spend the night. They have been riding motorcycles in the backyard this afternoon while I was at the church studying for my ladies retreat bible study. So, I didn't get any pics of the motorcycle adventure, but I did catch some shots of them being silly downstairs tonight.

Both Dallas and Jonah are on the praise team for Childrens worship at Church and they were practicing their songs for tomorrow. Jadon helped them out too!

Good night!

First Football game

Well, today was the first football game. It was alot of fun.
I didn't think that Jonah would be a football player. I thought that baseball was his sport. But, I could be wrong. He did VERY well today. I was SO proud of him.

I have one thing to say about this next picture. The kid can RUN! He is like a bullet!
Wonder where he got that from? ; )

Ok, well, I couldn't forget the cutest guy on the sidelines!

Short/Long Week

Hey everyone!

Well, I am so glad that the week came to an end. Even though it was a short week from the Holiday, it was a long exhausting week. I have been extremely tired lately. Jeff was so sweet to me today. (as he is every day I might add)He told me last night that he wanted me to sleep in and that he would get up early and get the boys all ready for school. So, he got up early and made the boys breakfast tacos (which they LOVE) and got them off to school while I slept like a baby! It was SO nice. He then took me to a mexican restaurant for lunch! It is one that I have not been to yet. (Mexican food is not the same here as it is in Texas) It was REALLY good though! I was impressed.

Anyway, the week has ended and the boys are outside playing with their toys in the woods. God is So good. Even at the end of exhausting/hard weeks I can throw my hands up and say, PRAISE you LORD! What on earth would we do with out HIM?

Here are some pics of the boys that I just took a couple of minutes ago from outside. Jeff and Jadon on are the 4wheeler riding around picking up dead limbs and Jonah is practicing his jumps! See how dead our back yard is? Oh, LORD....please send us some rain!

Jonah has his first upward football game (through the church) tomorrow morning. He is the quarterback for the team. Jeff was telling me last night that he is doing pretty good in practices. (I haven't gotten to go to a practice since that is the same night that I have my church History class through Union University.) So, I look forward to the game tomorrow. It should be fun. I'll take pics and post them tomorrow.
Love you all.

6:30 AM

This morning the alarm in Jadon's room was still going off at 6:30 AM. He usually gets up and turns it off right away. Not the case this morning. This is how I found him in the middle of a noisy alarm.

He was SO tired and it took him a long time to wake up.
Jonah on the other hand was a different story this morning.
When I went to go check on him, he was not in his bed....his bed was actually made and I found him fully clothed sitting in his closet reading his bible. What a blessing this site was!
After lots of kisses and a home-made pancake with blueberry syrup Jadon felt a little better.
Here is Jonah finishing up some reading that he didn't get done last night.
His teacher gave him a whopper of a math assignment yesterday that took FOREVER to complete and on a church night of course. So, after staying up till 10:00pm.....we had to skip our reading and finish it up this morning.
That's it this morning. The boys just got on the bus and I am off to study.

Labor Day Fun

Hey everyone!

We just got back from a weekend (Sun/Mon) at Dawson Camp. Lynsey and Kari Tibbs that are in my SS class invited us out to Dawson camp with their family for the Holiday. They rent this camp out every year for their family get together. We had a lot of fun with them. They are a sweet family and took us right in and treated us as their own. Everyone hung out at the pool most of the time and then of course we ate until we couldn't get anything else to fit in our guts! One of the pools had a slide and the boys had a blast with that! I took the camera, but then never took any pictures. It was such a neat place. Maybe one of the girls got some shots that I can have them send to me. Anyway, we are back and all ready for the week.

We love ya'll!

Love,
Brittnie

A Day at the Lake

We spent the day at the lake with friends today.
Here are some pics of the boys.
