Jadon has been telling us all year about his running around the track during PE time and how he always comes in 2nd Place. The little boy(Cooper) in his class comes in first and Jadon comes in second. Jeff and I know that Jadon is really fast for his age, but we never thought much about Jadon always being in second place.
Well, we found out a couple of weeks ago that Cooper has been ordering Jadon to get behind him before he crosses the finish line so he can win.....and Jadon has been letting him do it. So, the last week or so, we've been talking Jadon through this and telling him to run like lightening and not to listen to this little boy. Well....Jadon is a people pleaser....so there have were not any victories UNTIL today! Today during Field Day only the top runners were selected in the Top Gun Run that they do each year at the school. Jadon was given very clear instructions by his mommy and daddy....RUN like the WIND and don't listen to Cooper.
So, today a very happy little boy came home with his yellow 1st place T-shirt.
We knew he was fast!
Jonah needed to be in a picture...so he got his shirt from last year and posed with Jadon.

My Shoshone
A couple of weeks ago, Jonah's class had to independently research a specific famous person from the American Westward Expansion period. They had to write a paper on their person as well as memorize a 30 second speech telling about their person. Jonah was a Shoshone Indian. The kids presented all their speeches in a "Wax Museum" one day for all the parents. Here is a video of my Shoshone!

Some Comedy For The Day
Here is some fun dialogue for the day.
This morning on the way to church.
Jonah: Mom, I know you don't want to hear this but I want to tell you something.
Me: sigh....what is it Jonah.
Jonah: Well, dad tells me that when I out grow my motorcycle, he's going to get me a new YZ85.
Me: Great Jonah...you know how much I love you riding motorcycles (not)....but you just got a new motorcycle...so let's not jump so far ahead when we don't know what the future holds. (hopefully, he'll move on to something else before then)
Jonah: Yeah, mom...I asked dad "how did he know he was going to get me a new motorcycle when we may not have the money for it at that time, OR I may even be dead by then".
(this is just a saying we use when we talk about how God can take us home at any minute)
Me: Your right Jonah....you may gone, dad may may be gone, I may even be gone by then.
SILENCE
Jadon: Well, if everyone is gone, what am I supposed to do?
LOTS OF LAUGHS!!
This evening as I am retelling the story to Jeff so he could laugh along with me......Jadon is in the room with us listening and as I repeat his humorous line....he has one more line to add.
Jadon: Yeah, dad....if everyone is gone....I know what to do now. I just dial. 991.
Hmmm....Poor Jadon. Sounds like he is going to have some trouble if we are all gone.

The boys had a muddy ride today. Here are some pics from the day.
Here Jonah ran straight into a mud hole. Our friend has come to his rescue.

Can't get over it
I still can't get over this scenery- this is our backyard! Pinch me!
The weather is gorgeous here today and the smell of honeysuckle is all over.
Never dreamed that God would allow us to live in the woods.
This is the front
I can't believe that we ever did this before! Quite the change, yes?

Jonah's Birthday
Ok....I'm a bad, bad mother. I have been so busy that I have neglected the boys blog and have not posted Jonah's birthday stuff from back in March. That's awful.
Jonah had his birthday party with his 2 best friends who also have almost the same birth date.
We celebrated at our friends house. The boys just hung out and did boy stuff and then had pizza and cake. Nothing really fancy....it's easy to please boys!
This is the cake. Jeff informed me that I got the same cake as last year. Oops.
Well, what else do you get to put on a cake when your son likes dirt bikes and bicycles....
On to the gifts at our house.
Jonah asked for tech decks and stickers for his motorcycle.
You can't tell he's happy can you?
He is so proud of his stickers.
